CLIENT
ALERT! - Unsolicited and illicit Domain Name Renewals.
* You
are receiving this alert because you are a client with IP
PROTECTOR.*
Dear
IP PROTECTOR Client, This email has important information
regarding numerous inquiries we received regarding domain
name renewal notices sent by other third party registrars.
We hope you will take a few minutes to read
this notification.
Some
of our clients have been telling us about their experiences
with third party entities who have been attempting to "renew"
their domains, in many cases alluding that the domain *must*
be renewed through them or that they are in some way an
"official" domain registry for the country.
Examples
include:
-
The Domain Registry of Canada.
-
The Domain Registry of America.
These outfits
are merely collecting data obtained from the WHOIS database
and then sending out what appear at first glance to be renewal
invoices in an attempt to get you to renew via their service.
Please
be advised that IP PROTECTOR automatically renews all of
your domains on our system. In addition, IP PROTECTOR does
not send renewal invoices via postal mail. Renewing your
domain via any form received via postal mail will result
in your domain registrar being moved away from us to the
external third party registrar. The direct result will be
that IP PROTECTOR no longer has control over the domain
name. For the record, IP PROTECTOR considers this practice
to be deceptive.
We have
security measures that will protect you from unknowingly
having your domains transferred away. We have what is called
a "Domain Lock" on all domains on the system for which we
are the effective registrar. Any attempt to move a domain
to another registrar will fail until that lock is cleared
by us at your specific request.
As always,
if you have any questions about this issue or any other
services provided by IP PROTECTOR, please just email them
to info@ipprotector.com
